Audit Procedure Process
At Jerome Cohen audit service, each audit goes through a process that begins as soon as we receive the request. We enter the information from the policy onto our own database, assigning it a case number. All information is organized in a logical and accessible fashion. After the data is entered, the next step is to schedule the audit. The work is divided by geographical region. All scheduling is done in house, two weeks in advance. Our first attempt is to contact the insured with a letter that indicates the date we will arrive and the records we will need to see. All subsequent contact occurs over the phone. We attempt to be flexible and make accommodations when necessary. After two attempts at scheduling with the insured, we contact the broker, to minimize the output of nonproductive reports.
The audit process is tailored to meet the needs of individual insurance companies. The auditor submits progress reports to indicate the status of the audit, including any obstacles faced. At the end of the week, you will receive all the completed audits electronically as a PDF file.
For Voluntary Audits, in addition to mailing the required forms, we also enable the insured to access and complete the forms online. This creates a streamlined and efficient environment both for us and the insured.
